Project: Robin's Nest

Neighborhood: Eastlake

Status: November 2019

Building Type: Mixed-Use

# Units: 61 + 1 commercial

Located at the intersection of Eastlake Ave E and Fuhrman Ave E, this mixed-use project contains 61 apartment units, one street-level commercial space, and below-grade parking for 21 vehicles. This prominent corner, just south of the University Bridge, provides an opportunity for a strong urban edge that is well-scaled to its surroundings.

Designed to follow the slope of the existing site, the project proposes two structures stepping down the hill with a pedestrian court located between the buildings. High quality materials, including brick and ceramic panel, make up the majority of the facade.

A central residential entry for both buildings is located just east of the commercial space. For the south structure, an exposed staircase leads up to 2 stories of apartment units. The north structure is accessed via a bridge that overlooks the central courtyard and continues north providing an overlook where one can view Portage Bay and the University Bridge.
