The project is a renovation/addition to an existing single family residence in the Ravenna neighborhood in Seattle. The volumes interlock together to create two single story volumes that address the needed additional space while respecting the scale and volume of the existing structure. The clients required an open first floor that would connect the existing living room and entry through a new kitchen and dining area out to the back yard. Designed to allow for entertaining as well as creating a private bedroom suite on the second floor, the addition also included two decks that allow for and define the interlocking volumes between the first and second stories.
