saga school
The design for the SAGA School in Seattle was based on a series of modular structures that could easily be constructed from natural wood in an existing space. The pieces, while creating specific areas for learning activities, play and quiet/study time, also allow for flexibility within the kindergarten/preschool space. The individual volumes are designed to the scale of a child, providing both vertical and horizontal smaller private spaces. The pieces were constructed on site primarily by parents of students enrolled in the school and other volunteers.
